So after having my S for about 3 1/2 years, I have decided, it's just to blue. I've been collecting parts for this project for about 6 months. I have changed the Dash bezzle to black (black radio controls, and HVAC are soon to be installed). The center console has been upgraded to a 2004+ but I didn't like the siver, so it's painted to match the dash bezzle, radio controls HVAC, and top of the seat trim. The kick panels, running boards, and all the trim in the back of the car has been changed to black, except the center console. I added S-Pods, but of course the design wasn't quite good enough for me. I remade the front aluminum pieces. I went from 1/16 to 1/8" material, and took out the tweeter whole. There is no reason to put separates in the back. There is considerable more bass response with the new panels, I also used some weather stripping to seal it up ( helping with the bass response). The JL amp I have has a rear fill mode, so two channels of info come from each speaker, the effect is excellent.
Last part of the interior replaced. I found I didn't like the chopped look of the blue glove box console. I picked up a black one, and put my blue doors on it. I think this is the way the car should have come from the factory. I also put in a new set of windscreen bumpers in. I lowered this set as opposed to the ones on the blue roll hoops (they rattled a bit) I think this alternative won't rattle. Since the stops are lower, the windscreen will move less (shorter lever) we shall see.
Here are pics of the surgery........... Up to the task Matt??????????????
