Congrats to RubyRashel.
Damn...glad I don't have the FL-peer pressure to deal with
. Frankly I'm quite happy with my Invidia exhaust. I've heard many...and this exhaust has been an excellent aftermarket alternative, offering our F20C 4-cylinder a much more fluent, almost exotic-to-the-lotus-esprit tune. But hey, to each their own.

Well fair enough. No quality problems here for me. No hp-increase concern for me as the S2K is plenty strong already to my liking. I just wanted something that offered The Bruised Banana a slightly more "throaty" sound...and Invidia offers that. There *is* a drone to consider...if that bothers a person. I run with the silencers in, and have not been bothered by the drone all that much. But again, I can appreciate your points FS. Thanks
.
BTW, as for that intake on your new ride Ruby???...um, I definitely agree with the others...you need to get rid of that 'un.

well i can tell you that its rattles a little bit when i come to a stop, really annoying, the drone is also very annoying. i heard rich had the same problem with the rattle too, as far as the intake, i have to do my research on it because I dont know jack about it. but like i said, I like it better than stock.

Congrats Ruby! If you need any info or have questions on the PRM, PM me
as I was the main reason (ducking the tomatoes now) that this intake exists in
the USA. I was the first S2000 owner stateside to use it and helped Gerry with
the R&D for the intake. There are several ways you can make it work wonderfully
for the car. It's aggressive and protects the filter from heat soak but depending on
the age of the intake, you could be down 1-2hp from the newer versions which use a better
filter. The ones Gerry (owner of the PRM company) used initially were of marginal
quality and NOT authentic K&N filters.
The absolute best way to make the intake work for you is to find a way to extend the
horn right into the wheel well and drill out the faux brake duct on the passenger side.
This will help to snake cooler air during speeds up through the wheel well and into
the horn section for maximum venturi effect (the principal behind the intake
design).
By and large, most intakes for the car (above 5-6hp) are nothing more than sound
machines. If you like the tone of it during VTEC, there's no harm using it. It does NOT
lose horsepower as some foolishly claim. It's the best solution (other than the stock
airbox or like "boxed intakes") to avoid heat soak and water ingestion from our summer downpours.
The car definitely looks like it was maintained well but chances are, it's the
simple green you're smelling (or whatever the dealership used to detail the engine bay).
It'll burn off soon enough. A coolant leak would of course, be the other reason
you're getting a sweet smell but I would like to think that problem would have
manifested itself during the car's prep...they would smell that immediately on start-up
and taken care of it.
Nothing wrong with the Invidia exhaust. Sounds great, looks great.
You should know by now we have a very judgemental group down here....the
S2000 fashion police are always in full regalia. Do yer own thing and enjoy marching
to your own beat..it's very liberating!
