Default dilemma - which Porsche?

So I'm looking to retire my S2000 within the next year so I'm searching for my next toy.

I narrowed it down to the Porsche Boxster S, the newly announced Cayman S (Boxster S Coupe) or 911 Carrera S.

The Boxster would be too much like the S2000. The Carrera is putting out some great performance numbers but the new Cayman might actually perform better.

Which one would you pick?

never buy a car in it's first year....even if it is a Porsche. Look at all the trouble early boxsters had. Go for the Carrera.

Boxster = POOR MAN'S PORSCHE.

Get the 911 Carrera, If you don't.. I will disown you forever as a friend as you consider a "Boxster" a Porsche!

Not really Cindy, the old 986 was known as the poor man's Porsche or more popularly as the 911's bitch. But the new model, the new 987 is completely redone, all new and I believe retains 80% of the same components used in the 911.

In a recent comparison by R&T, the Boxster was rated higher than the new Carrera, coming out 2nd in the comparison out of 9 other sports cars, only to be beaten by the Corvette.

Its not the 911's bitch anymore, its all grown up now and a legitimate challenger.

My vote is for the 911 S. Richer tradition and heritage. Plus, status bling (if you're into that). And I would love to drive/race one (hint, hint).
