I used rivets and I think I may use rust paint? What do you think? I may weld the area of cutting when I paint the car.

And yes im gonna go with wider tires now that this is done and a less aggressive camber

For the rivets you could use some silicone on the inside of the fender to seal the metal from water.

I agree with Alex. Take of that rubber strip. Clean the edge really well and shoot it with some anti-rust paint.
