Default Going Turbo...

Hello South Florida boosters,

I have just picked up a 2003 SilverStone S2000 and I want to go turbo, either loveFab or InlinePro.

My question is... As this car will be my daily driver, what boost would be recommended for daily driving? 4-6PSI?

My mechanic, who works on nothing but Honda's mentioned to me that the S2000 motor is rather weak and that higher boost levels have caused issues with the rear cylinder.

Has anyone experienced any weirdness or engine failure at low boost, once tuned?

Is our motor that fragile???? I though the F20c motor was bulletproof.

Your Thoughts,

Gus

I personally dont think the engine is weak; actually it is very strong. Its just when you start turboing an already high compression engine you have to replace some parts to drop the compression a little. DONT HOLD ME TO IT!

There's no motor that is bulletproof unless you sleeve It yes the s2000 motor is a very strong motor but only for N/A aplications only but once you start adding boost then you just have to spend the right kind of money, time, and labor to make the car safe as a daily driver.

If you want lots of power lovefab is the way to go you'll get somewere between 440-480whp at 16psi with this Kit. Inline pro somewere between 390-430whp.at 16psi with this kit. one of my friend has a inline pro kit on his S and all I have to say is wow nice power. This is what he as done so far :
Performance: GT35R, InlinePro turbo kit, Tial wastegate, RC750's, 3mm head gasket, ARP headstuds, AEM FPR, AEM EMS, AEM 3.5bar MAP, GM boost solenoid, Custom 3" exhaust, BDL 70mm Throttle body, Port-matched intake manifold, InlinePro oil relocation kit, oil cooler, custom coolant overflow, Koyo radiator, Cryo treated differential, Krankvents, NRG catch can, Defi Gauges, PLX R500, 2NRWERKS modified oil pump, shiny stuff (+10 hp!)

I think this is one of the cleanest motor I have ever seen and the power its all there. if you like to check out he car here's some pics.

if you like to contact him PM him at https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showuser=18326 his name is JC

+1 Spoonsports. JCA's car is very quick and clean running safely @ 18psi and 21 psi when he get 'er cranking.

We have hours and hours of experience on both kits on the S2K and depending on the results you are looking for, we can help with your decision. PM me.

I disagree with the S2K motor being weak. We have put enormous boost into stock bottom ends and have not had failure. Now when you sleeve them they are virtually indestructable. We have the oppertunity to build a monster here in Tampa that will be lurking the streets in So. Fla in a few months. Stay tuned!

What type of cost am I looking at when sleeving the block?

Who would you recommend in South Florida for the build?

Is there someone who can build the car and dyno it as well with AEM EMS?

Thanks all,

Gus
