A few members are participating in the Gulf Coast National Autocrossing event.

Who is interested in Group Driving to Ft. Myers.

We'll have to pass over the Alligator Alley and approximately 50 miles north of that.

Tentative details are as follows:

Our goal is to reach Ft Myers by 10-11.

We can surely make it there in 2 hours.

To accomplish this:

1) Meet at the first rest area after joining the Alligator Alley at 8:15 am.

2) Everyone signs the waivers.

3) Exchange cell numbers as necessary.

4) Depart the rest area @ 8:45AM promptly.

5) Take the alley and then continue on I75 to the event.


Please note:
Observe all traffic regulations and drive in a safe manner. We will not be racing to the event. we will be goiing to WATCH a race event. Remember there will be a line of S2000s driving down the highway and we will surely attract significant attention.

Your just going for the day? That might be a real nice drive...

 

As it stands now... the intention to go and come back on sunday.

There a number of hotels in the area if folks would like to travel beforehand and stay the night.

 

i will be up ther friday night through sunday....and will be staying at my cousins house about 5mins south of the autox location i might be able to acomadate a few ppl not much though u would have to bring your own bed like as far as an air matress...

 

The intention is to have a "group drive" as everyone has been suggesting. We thought Ft. Myers would be a nice idea because we can show some support for our fellow S2ki'ers that actually race.

We would like to meet on Sunday morning at a convenient location (possibly the rest stop on I-75 where we've met up in the past) and try to make it there between 10:00 and 11:00 AM.

 

Ft Myers...HHmmm. Group drive, nice folks, racing, beautiful cars and scenery, and....food?? Thinking of possibly rich seafood entries with flowing glasses of red wine, while my Black Fin Tuna filet simmers in the cool of the night, nesting itself on my plate, along side some asparagus, and succulent soft mashed yuca. Sounds good to me... If I'm off, count me in. Oh, and don't forget my cousin Danny.

This Sunday is supposed to be very cold but this is for next Sunday (Nationals on 2/19), not this Sunday.
