dude, I'm fu ckin with you. I know the DC doesn't do much for the S. The S is practically tuned to the max from factory, that's why you see minimal gains when you go NA.

In my opinion(for engine breathing mods), you should really start from the back and up. Exhaust, testpipe, then header. Think about it....If you have a high flow header for the air to exit and bam, the cat slows down that flow back to near stock flow.
I'm just stating that it's ideal to start from the back and up. Second, the DC header may be good for others, but for S2000, don't waste your money.

Save the money on the header and get gears instead. The oem header is very very good. Its only downside is that it is heavy.
DC header is not a good choice for our car.
The tried and tested headers that show some good gains are J's and Toda. Berk has numbers by the manufacturer, but not sure how many others have validated their gains (and I haven't seen them publish for the AP2). The problem with all three is that they have no heatshield. That is a major problem in the S2k since hp loss due to heat soak is already pretty terrible.
There are some headers with heatshields: Rick's and Mugen. Rick's shows some mid range but no net increase...and at least a couple folks have seen small losses. Mugen now makes an AP2 header...not sure I've seen a dyno showing any gains...but if based on the AP1 header results, expect 2-5hp and some decent mid-range gains. Mugen heatshield mounts are notorious for cracking though.
The Mugen, J's and Toda are not cheap...so not much bang for the buck.
I have a Toda...it is much lighter than OEM (about 10 lb less), and I fabricated an ugly heatshield plus had it Jet-Hot coated...but overall, didn't notice a huge change in performance. If I hadn't gotten a fantastic deal on it (got it new for about what the Berk cost), I would not have bought it.
