Default Hello South Florida

Hello All,

There is a good chance that I may be moving to Key West next summer. I'm wondering how the car/import scene looks down there as far as clubs, meets and drives. I've been following the South Florida board for some time and I havent really seen much dialog. Are you guys down there still active other than Flannigans in Miami and some local buy and sell?

Key West is about a 3 hour drive to Miami, so its a good ways away from the things we typically do, there used to be a couple members down there, but i know one of them moved out and i can't recall the last time i saw someone from down there.

Sad news indeed. I was looking forward to bringing the S down there. I'm a bit spoiled up here with all the mountain back roads and meets. Seems i'll be doing a lot of driving to Miami...lol. Thanks for the heads up guys.

I haven't seen a whole lot of "car scene" in Key West cars-wise. But when I'm in Key West, I'm usually on the water, or hanging out somewhere with a drink in my hand. The car stays parked.

There is the annual Bay Bottom Crawl autocross on Sugarloaf Key. We've had a few of group drives from the mainland to Key West, that's always fun. Last one I did was probably 2-3 years ago though.

I lived in Key West for 11 years and moved out a year ago. Visited a couple times but have no wishes on returning.

Car scene, don't waste your time. There's a 9-sec Evo, a couple nice muscle cars, a Lambo Gallardo, and that's about it.
There's some S2's, you'll get waves from almost every one of them but none are on here that I know of.
There's a Laguna with a retarded Home Depot fence post exhaust pipe that sounds like complete ass that will probably try to race you and not disclose his other mods then brag how he beat you whether you run or not.

Tuesday nights there's a car meet at the old Blockbuster parking lot in the K-Mart shopping center. Civic's, shit like that but nothing special.

Do what I did, drive to Miami for their meets every so often, enjoy the sights.
The Keys will get old if you don't get out on the water, or like drinking yourself stupid.
Be careful of who you surround yourself with as well, it's a shady place with the younger crowd, learned this the hard way.

As mentioned, there's a large autocross event in Sugarloaf called Bay Bottom Crawl put on by EVSCC. They also do monthly events in the FKCC parking lot. February I believe is when they run Serpentine (BBC backwards), and November is Snoopy & Woodstock on Big Torch Key.
