Hello South Florida S2k owners.
Hello,
My name is Mike, Slash, Hammer (my last name), or f'n new guy. I dont currently own an S2000 but I'd hope to someday seeing as its a wonderful value. I'll just give you guys a summary of myself and my car career.
Started with a 2 1988 300zx turbo's. Ran one in autocross format in ASP and got 5th in the Fort Myers state Pro Solo in 1998 for ASP. The other was a drag car with a built motor that laid down 592rwhp on 110 oct and 420whp on 93. Became the moderator for Tamparacing.com's Toyota Tech section and started havign to take care of 3,000 arguing Toyota enthusiasts! EEEEKKK!!!
Then I ran out of money becasue of A: cars B: my was-to-be wife with broke parents and 5 younger siblings! ssssoooo
I had a 1983 RX7 (autox'd), a 1991 Subaru Legacy wagon (rugby equipment mover), then a 1989 240sx (only gave up recently), and a 1995 integra GSR (attempt to be cheap and 14 second range, worked fairly well at 14.6).
Currently I own some sensible sedans, a 1987 Toyota cressida relibility tank for my wife, and a 2003 Mazda Protege for myself (gotta take clients out in something close to new).
I've done a lot of circut racing with the Paradice Z club, Eurosport Garage, and random Chin Motorsports HPDE's with other people's cars for a while, but its time to start with my own vehicle. The protege just isnt thrilling on the track, just at autocross. I'd really like to do another 240sx or mr2 (with a gen3) for time attack style competition (since its starting here in the US now) but it really isnt worth the cost....
So I've been looking around for the bang/buck ratio and the S2000 is pretty much there with the lowest True Cost to own numbers (even over the new miata!) as well as stellar performance for total cost in stock class autox as well as circut work.
Really I'd be doing more of the down to earth mods such as the front swaybar, tires, alignment work, and more than likely an Invidia exhaust (friend has one on his yellow S2000 at FAU, LOVE IT).
Anyhow i'd really enjoy to come out and meet some of you and see the cars before I take the total plunge myself for a 2003 model year with some documented history and one owner.
I work at Volvo Aero in Boca Raton and generally I'm around that area on in Orlando with my wife. Hope to see some of ya'll soon!

Its the yellow (if thats what you mean by spa), and yes its got the CF hood, lip, and HRE 540's 19 inchers on it.
Personally I hate the rest of the mods but I love the exhaust. Hes also got springs on stock shocks for the yuck bumpsteer handling. Wont be doing that sorta junk to my future S.
