Default An History of S2000 Ownership

In the interest of engendering some community spirit about our enthusiasm for the S2000, I present a photo journey of S2000 ownership, starting back in January 2000 when I purchased my first true sports car. Enjoy, and follow up with some of your own.

First Installment, 2000-2003.

The bloodline, 1968 Honda S800. That's right, 800cc and about 50 RWHP!

Initial press coverage:

2000

Excited by the prospect of a lightweigh, powerful Honda Roadster, I visited several South Florida dealers for my next new car. For those that bought early, you remember "dealer market adjustments" of up to $5,000 on the S2000. I got lucky, and on January 2, 2000, I picked up my car.

Out with the Mustang and in with the Honda. Even with the 4.6 liter V8 in the 1996 GT, the Honda is faster!:

The first S2000 Florida "Supermeet". March 2000 in Orlando. It was the first time that I saw all four colors (Grand Prix White, New Formula Red, Berlina Black, and Silverstone) of the S2000.

My first track day with Chin Motorsports, May 2000. The beginning of the addiction .

November 2000, Sebring short course. Have you ever worn out a set of brake pads in 3 hours? I have!

2001

The first documented S2000 Tower Shops Meet, January 2001

My friend bought a Boxster S and we compared rides.

Off to Atlanta Motor Speedway.

McDonalds car colors.

AMS.

Coral Gables Car Show

Homestead Motor Speedway

2002

Rick Case Honda Grand Opening, February.

SCCA Fort Myers National Tour.

Jason Saini won the National Championship in his S2000, and won the MX5 Cup in 2007 winning a free ride with Mazda for 2008.

A wet Tower Shops meet in July.

A dry Tower Shops Meet in August.

Homestead Again with Chin Motorsports.

2003

Roebling Road with the only frost my Honda has ever seen.

S2000/NSX Supermeet in Orlando.

Sebring in August

An untimely end at Sebring in October.

Jason is from the midwest and just came by Florida to compete in the SCCA autocross national tour. He's on to bigger things now, and is in his rookie year with speed World Challenge: http://www.world-challenge.com/news/story.php?ID=783 .

He hangs out in the track forum on Miata.net from time to time.

Wow - cool stuff! Thanks for the pics, Josh! I'm going to try & dig up some of my pics, but a bunch of them were lost when my PC crashed.

This pic just cracks me up!
