I did it by myself!
Thanks to the extraordinary RatedS2k for sharing his expertise on oil changes w/ me the last few times. Because of what he showed me & helped me do, I was able to do my first solo oil change today! Wooo hooo!
(I was even able to jack the car up all by myself!
)
No pictures to show, but I just wanted to share the news w/ ya'll.
Hmmmmm, maybe I could start "JerseyGirl's House of Oil Changes and Chocolate Slip-n-Slides". That might be my million dollar idea!

fun, isn't it. must be a gratifying feeling after you have done it for the first time. the anticipation of pressing the start button hoping that oil doesn't go spewing all over the place.
next, you will want to do diff fluids, brake fluids etc. which aren't too much of a different process. then changing brake pads comes next. it is all good, better than giving the dealer like 3-4 times more than what it would cost you to do yourself.
peace.

I helped RatedS2k change his tranny fluid.
I was helped by various club members at CoralDoc's tech day to do my diff fluid last June. That was fun!
And I've sort of helped KeithD change his brake pads.
By the way, I called Rick Case today for sh!ts and giggles to find out how much they would've charged for an oil change w/ synthetic oil.
$69.95!
Also, for anyone who uses Mobil 1, if you go to Pep Boys and buy their Mothers Against Drunk Driving charity calendar, there's a coupon in there for buy 3 quarts, get 3 free. You can get 6 quarts for about $15!
Tidal, I learned from the best (RatedS2k), so I really felt like I knew what I was doing!
