BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!
...and it was thank god for autocrossing because I think that experience is TRULY what saved my a$$!!!
Those were the original S-02's that screwed me. I like the RE050's, but I they made a droning sound when I first put them on the back that never went away. Now I'm on S-03's, and I think the 50's are just as good, maybe a little harder, with a little less stick, but for the money, you can't go wrong with the 50's.
FYI: I got the 03's for cheap, cheap, otherwise I'd still be on 50's.
I have just about 10K on my first set of RE050's and I just took off the stock wheels to put on my winter tread ( I know it's late). Anyway I have enough tread for another 5K on my rears but when I took them off I found that I have 2 nails in my left rear tire. What should I do, get the nail holes repaired or leave the nails in there since there isn't a leak yet?
It's probably safer to get the nails removed. You're just asking for a high speed blow out. I've plugged mine myself, but you're probably better off getting it patched from the inside.
Think about it, if you drive your car like it wants to be driven, how would you feel if that nail gets worn down to the point that it decides it doesn't want to stay anymore and creates a problem in the middle of a 50 mph on/ off ramp?
I'm not liking the picture I'm seeing!!!

Have the tire repaired properly. An effective contact patch is the most critical safety component of your car.

i was all laughin by myself in the office. i didn't read if these were your daily driver tires or not. but if they were, that's crazy bro! i don't think i could even come close to that without getting new ones.
