Hey guys! I'm I'd like to start getting the monthly meets back together with some consistency. Before that can happen, we need to decide on a location for the meets. Smashburger in Pembroke Pines wasn't all that bad, but is kind of limited for space. We also did a meet at the Sonic next to Sun Life Stadium, but people were complaining that it was "too long of a drive" or that it was in a bad neighborhood.

I am opening the floor to discussion: any and all suggestions for meet locations, times, etc. will be considered and voted upon. I will create a poll on Saturday that will close on Wednesday. At that point I will finalize all plans for a meet, organize it, and post up the details here and on Facebook.

This is also a call out to the old school owners - you guys are still very much a part of this community. You all have more experience of organizing/attending these meets than I do. Please, anything that has worked in the past, I'd love to hear.

And is anyone going to PBIR on Sunday for the Driving made Safe for the Streets??

 

The meets were previously held on Thursday nights. I'd like for them to be held on the last Thursday of every month. That would make the next meet on 30 January, 2014.

 

Keep in mind, I am open to creating two separate meets, one for the Palm Beach/Broward folks, and one for the Miami-Dade folks. Things can be arranged, but I need time and feedback to do so.

well, I kind of liked the Thursday night meet where we met at smash-burger and then drove over to the other Thursday night meet at some plaza in Weston. So my vote would be for a quick meetup somewhere and then ride over to that meet.

 

One think what makes meets easier to attend is ease of access. Any of the tower shops restaurants are pretty centrally located (for broward), and easily accessed from anywhere via 75/95/turnpike and 595. And you can easily park cars together too.

 

Any interest in the Delray / Boynton area? That would be pretty central to PB and BWRD

 

Jesse, I like this idea as well. Maybe we could meet up at Smashburger, or outside Whole Foods (same plaza), and then roll over to the Towers meet? We can set the meet time for 8, leave by 9.....

 

I agree with your point here, which is what made the smashburger meet such a success in the past. It was literally a quarter mile from I-75 on pines boulevard. I do prefer the idea of meeting up at one location, then driving to the Towers meet. That way we all show up as one big group. What do you think?

 

If anything I'd like to start a recurring meet in West Palm Beach to satisfy the crew up there. I can imagine you guys feel left out as the meets generally happen in south Broward/Dade county. I am in Palm Beach almost every weekend, so I am familiar with the area, and can organize a meet in the area. Any suggestions on where we could meet up?
