I'm a space cadet!
I completely forgot about this until it was brought up to me in... wait for it... a recent job interview
Imagine my surprise at the question of "How did your name end up on a space probe chasing down comets?" after some grueling technical questions all day long!!!

Waaaaay back in the late 90's a number of our family's names were entered onto a microchip that was attached to a NASA probe. Four chips were manufactured, two sets of two chips containing names... one set will remain in space forever with the probe, the second set is contained in the return payload package that is sent back to Earth. Once it comes back, the chips will end up in a museum.
The guy did a Google search on my name and found the above, as well as a cached version of an old s2ki thread about my MP3 player project. Talk about questions out of the blue!
