hrmmm.
How about a Broward-Palm Beach subforum? It seems that Dade-Miami and Broward-Palm Beach would benefit from their own segments and COs.

I REALLY dont think SoFlo NEEDS Co's to function- why cant people just get together and say "hey lets meet up tonight whos in? "

IF you were to put in existence a new system of CO's - they need to be unbiased and have SOME experience in leading a group or organizing a group.

A CLEAR set of rules and obligations need to be set out Prior and periodically checked on -

Another thing that may be a solution this time around- 1 from broward 1 from dade....
There is a lot more to CO then asking who is in for the next meet.

Willie,

I think a CO from Dade and one from Broward would be a fantastic idea.

But subforums for each group I think would just divide the group unnecessarily, especially since we aren't too far apart.

this is sage reasoning. The two counties need to get along to make a cohesive southern unit. A singular southern FL forum makes the most sense. A CO from each area is fantastic IMHO

like someone said, it does take a lot more than just organizing meets to be a CO.

We (entire S2k community) are definitely not in the same place/state/status as we were a few years ago.

The good old days...
such is the fate of the universe my friend. the forces that be in life are in a contstant state of change. why should S2ki be any different?

A little sociology here, as a group grows in numbers the propensity for it to break off into smaller groups grows. That is, there is a certain carrying capacity for any active organization before rifts begin to appear and "separatists" emerge.

The question here is, is the south Florida group as a whole manageable given the large numbers and growth potential? Would it be simpler to divide the region into two distinct groups and utilize common ground that all members can gather in and contribute?

I would say yes. And given the demographics of the region I would challenge anyone here to find two counties that are so close in proximity, but so divergent in terms of culture.

Ultimately you control your own destiny, I would hate to see history repeat itself due to rather simple and foreseeable events.

2 more pennies.

The thing is that we were functioning as one community until recently.

From what I have seen (correct me if I'm wrong), but having the SFL group included with the rest of the Florida has increased our participation/communication with everyone else.

I would say as a compromise have 3 CO's for SFL then. One for Dade, one for Broward, and one for Palm Beach. We can all share one forum due to the proximity and everyone SHOULD get along just fine. If there is any problem the CO's vote (no worries about a tie with 3).

It is true that we have different cultures but we are all here because of our love for the car.

(Now this is more like it, intellectual debate with sound reasoning and logic, I could get used to this )

I will follow Warren and Dario where ever they choose to go and meet. They are my COs!!!

I think having a meet by a bunch of irresponsible people without a CO present to monitor the situation is counter productive to both S2KI and the event attendees. I will not be part of it.
