You can, all you need is a camera that can do long exposure/slow shutter speed
-2 brightness, +5 contrast, resize, save for web.
Tripod of course.
These were taken using 15-20 second shutter, so tripod was definitly needed.
Too bad I didn't spend a couple minutes looking through the viewfinder to see that the tripod wasn't level in the sand. Oh well, there's always next time

Very cool shots man, what camera are you using and lens? Shutter speed 15-20 is good for lightning, how about your F, what did you use? I'm really interested in learning to take pics like that. And the one on your signature with your s2000, how many seconds did you use? ANd was it a flashlight your using?

Camera = Nikon D50 with 70-300mm lens
Shutter Speed = 15"-20" (varied with each picture)
F-Stop = 4
