Default LoJack

What does everything think of this? I have been considering it, but I hear it costs near $1,000. Is this worth it if you already have a decent alarm system and don't goto clubs or bad areas very often?

The only benefit to Lo-Jack is this: if your car gets stolen and they fail to retrieve it, you'll collect $5,000 from them in addition to insurance money. I, personally, don't want my car back if some thief steals it and joy rides and vandalizes the crap out of it. The car would never be the same after some of these guys get to it.

Save the $1,000. I wish I did on my Xtreme.

I have LoJack installed in my S2000. It was $600 through the dealership (same price listed on LoJack's website) when I bought the car. I can't belive someone's telling you $1k.

I installed the basic OEM alarm to deter petty thieves, but LoJack is there just in case the car ever disappears. They say it takes about 1.5 hours to locate and retrieve a LoJack equipped car, which dramatically improves the odds of catching the bastard(s) who took it.

I also had LoJack installed through the dealership and they charged me $500. Northern VA is starting to be a terrible area to own a honda. Theyre all getting stolen. About 15 of my friends have got their car stolen and only 3 had LowJack.. Those 3 got their cars back in under an hour.. Everyone else just got a shell back 4 days later. Most of these cars gettin stolen in the area are Integras and Civics but better safe than sorry.

well I called lojack up a few weeks ago checking out prices- and it all depends on what package you want to go with, and what features you want- but the price can go from like $800- to over $1000. I'm seriouslly thinking about it once i get some cash saved up.......ha but who knows when that will be.

it appears that the major problem with lojack is the delay in reporting stolen cars- if you report your car stolen - and the lojack is activated within like 30mins of the car being taken- they can allmost 100% get it back perfect- but if you only find out after a few hours- good luck.

The latest lojack has a motion sensor that can call your cell phone anytime your car is moved- and if its not authorized you can activate the system right there.

If you call your guy again, ask about a group buy price. How many to drop the price. I may be interested.

I believe some of the newer alarms "page" you when it is going off. This may not be as great as a motion sensor, but it won't be $1000+ either.
