My point is that the claim she is filing is for workman's compensation because "she was on the job". I'm not in any way agreeing that the officer should file a personal injury lawsuit, however, how did the whole situation make it to the news in the first place???? Easy, the family called the reporters. They want sympathy because from sympathy comes help. I don't feel sympathy for a parent who isn't watching their child.

And, as I stated before.....homeowner's covers this and takes care of the attorney representation as well. The family does not have to dish anything out of their pockets.

 

You guys all do realize that just because they filed a lawsuit doesnt mean that it will go to trial; the judge can strike it down and find the lawsuit frivolous. Hell anyone can sue anyone doesnt mean it will go to trial. It just means that someone filed papers in court. stating their intentions; half the time stuff like doesnt even make it to trial.

 

I would have sued them too. That way I can get another 20 grand out of it. I got sued for 20 grand for just idling into someone and tapping someone from behind. So she has more than enough right to sue those people that caused her to break her leg. This is America people you can sue for just about anything don't you know that!

Thinking about it though South Florida has the highest uninsured drivers in the state. So you might not get anything.

 

Well, this reminds me of the picture that I took of a sign when I went to CA. Like the billboard state, I think this country has gone lawsuit crazy. People sue just about anything these days. Heck, there's even companies that will loan you money upfront for you to sue.



I agreed with Di about the negligence. Trust me, I've seen plenty of parents these days that let their kids run wild in public and don't give a crap while they talk with other adults. And I also agreed with most of you guys that the fact that this lawsuit is the most B.S. that I have heard in awhile, and it reflects strongly on the person who's suing.

I think both side should be responsible for their own part and not blame the other party for it. As for how this got to the news....who knows.

When you enlist for the military , to be a cop firefighter or what ever you sign up to put YOURELF in danger. If you do not want the job DONT apply for the job

 

Also , this cop will not sue for 3 or 4 thousand for time lost at work it will be in the millions im sure
