OK! I've been fight ing off the urge to get a bike because I do way to much reserch and end up NEEEEDING to get a 3 thousand dollar bike.

What would you guys recommend to have fun and not get crazy expensive?
Hey man, seriouslly to get your feet wet with it you have two options, either go to target and get one of their better schwinns for $150 and beat it into the ground untill you know what your doing, or do some research and wait around untill you find a good deal popping up on graigslist. The important thing is really to make sure that you get a bike that fits you more than anything else. You wont notice the difference inbetween a great bike and a decent bike for a long time, however you will notice the difference inbetween one that fits, and one that doesnt. If you want PM me and ill get you the low down on how to measure yourself up for frame sizes. Also try to stay away from gimicky components like disk brakes on cheapo bikes. you can get a bike with disks for under $200 bucks, but they will be busted on your first time out on a trail.

Ive known people to find upper end treks with less then a year on them for $150 on craigslist, and ive also seen people ride department store schwinns for a year on hard trails with no more maintenance than my specialized, but I certainlly wouldnt blow $3g on a bike just to start off with.

SPICYHANDS : ITS THE PARK BY THE GRATINY EXPESS. THE TRAILS ARE FURTHER BACK PAST THE DOG AREA.

YOU DON'T NEED TO SEND 3G'S ON A BIKE . CHECK SOME OF THE ONLINE BIKE RETAILERS LIKE - JENSONUSA, PRICEPOINT, AND GREENFISH.COM . THEY HAVE PERTY GOOD BEGINNER BIKES FOR AROUND 7-8 HUNDRED. ONE OF THE KEY THINGS ON BIKES ARE WHAT CONPOMENTS THE COME WITH. YOU COULD FIND A GOOD DEAL ON THOSE SITES. YOU COULD DO SOME RESEARCH AT MBTR.COM .THEY ARE A CONSUMER REPORT SITTE BY BIKERS THAT HAS LOTS OF REVIEWS AND INFO.

woody, just go on ebay. search for a specialized or a gt. there are alot of people who upgrade bikes every couple of months and let their old ones go for cheap
