My S is acting up....
I see that the crisis is over, that's good to hear. I do have a code reader if you throw another CEL. Might shed some light in the future.
but anyone else in the future, definitely pull over when the cell flashes... it means baaad things are happening

Well, unfortunately it started happening again when I was almost home from work.
It's giving me 6 codes - P0300 through P0304 and P1399. All misfire codes.
I spoke to a mechanic recommended by Warren that's going to take care of it for me in the morning. He doesn't seem to think it'll be anything bad which has made me feel better. He thinks it may just be one of the coils and the spark plugs gone bad.
He explained that if the car is misfiring, the check engine light will blink whenever it feels the misfire and it will stop when it doesn't. It's basically just trying to tell you it's not good to continue driving because misfires are obviously bad for your car but it does not, in any way, mean that there is something severely wrong.
I'll keep you guys posted in case this happens to someone else. =*(

Alright, so I decided to check the rest of the plugs and they were all loose :/
AND....this is the best part....cylinder 1's plug had lost it's prongs (yes, prongs - - I had the Bosch 4 Platinums - so 4 little prongs got swallowed up by my engine). I know, I'm retarded, but I didn't have a choice when I got those because they didn't have the NGK's in stock and I had to change them at the time.
Anywho, car is running fine now and no codes. Let's see what happens manana. Cross your fingers.

AFAIK you are not supposed to run those plugs in an F20C....
That little piece of useful information could have been shared when I originally purchased those plugs, don't you think? Let's take it back a couple of months when we originally felt my car running a bit rough and you suggested I check the plugs because it felt to you as if I was running on 3 cylinders....I came home and after removing the plug from cylinder 1, I discovered the metal piece inside the porcelain end of the spark plug was loose and had stayed inside the coil when I removed it...remember that? You asked that I even email you a pic...am I refreshing your memory?
I had you on the phone when I was at the last auto part store I had gone to and I told you I was buying Bosch because they did not have NGK's or Denso's in stock. You could have said, "those aren't good for japanese cars so don't run them long, change them as soon as you can get the NGK's or stock plugs"!!!!! DORK!!!!! Considering you have been my "go to" person every time I have felt a problem with my car, you know I learn from what you tell me. So should I send the bill to your home or business address???
On a serious note......cylinder one did the very same thing again....the metal piece that sits in the porcelain was loose. Perhaps that coil is bad? From what I was told last night, that seems to be a recurring problem with the S2000's lately. It's not expensive so I think I may change that coil just to play it safe. I'm also going to have a compression test done on the car today or tomorrow.
I had a bad coil once and it also shorted out my ECM..
Be sure not to drive it if the light is flashing. Also be sure to have them check the threads on the head. When my coil shorted out the plug got so hot that the threads on the head for the plug got damaged and they had to rethread the head. Good luck.

I wouldn't run anything on the S2000 aside from NGK or Denso. Heck I won't run anything but NGK or Denso on any of my vehicles! Boat is NGK, Toyota is Denso, and Honda Mower is NGK!
