Default New to Miami

I just moved in to UM and my roomate has a car he's interested in autocrossing/upgrading his car. He drives an Audi S4. If any of you know of any reputable tuner shops, or any upcoming autocross events we would like to know about it. Thanks

Welcome to Miami and to our board.

The most important tune up that can be done to make the car faster for autocross is the one that is done to the driver through seat time. I recommend to spend time, money and effort on driver development instead of screwing around with the car (unless something is really wrong with it).

There are four south Florida autocross clubs within striking distance of Miami:
1. Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club in Miami
2. Gold Coast Porsche Club in Miami/ Fort Lauderdale
3. Gulf Coast Autocrossers in Fort Myers
4. Ecurie Vitesse Sports Car Club in Key West

The next autocross event is an autocross school associated with the Porsche Club in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, 28 August. Unfortunately, it is Porsche owners only. Their regular autocross series (non-Porsches allowed) starts up again in October but note that you will need to sign up in advance online in order to attend. The next non marque-specific event is over in Fort Myers on Sunday, 4 September with practice on Saturday, and the next local event (for you in Miami) is at Homestead on Sunday, 25 September.

See you and your friend at the autocrosses!
