Default New to Miami

Just moved to the miami area from detroit and wanted to introduce myself

My car is an 01 silverstone with a few mods (i'll be adding more soon) , I have been an active road racer, autoxer, asshole driver up in michigan and hope to do the same here. I'm a car junkie so i'll probably make it out to a few meets in the area and a few autocrosses/track events here and there. I am planning to make it out to the zoom zoom event so I may run into some of you there.

I also have a couple questions:
I am living in Doral for a month and had a hell of a time finding and a coin car wash to properly wash my car, is anybody aware of one in the area?

Is there an area forum for car enthusiasts? Detroit has a great one and it is a great resource for events, parts, shop feedback etc.

BTW: Here's pics of my cars to add some car porm to spice up this boring post.

Probably the closest coin car wash to you is on 67 ave and SW 56 street. Take the Palmetto south to 56 st then go east and it will be right before the circle K on the right hand side(67ave).

Bloomfield/Birmingham/Troy area. More or less the burbs but it's easy enough to say detroit. What about you?

I guess i'll have to get used to driving then... I assumed in an area with so many nice cars those without nice houses would want something better than touchless.

I'll definitely stop by fuddruckers ... see you all around.

all night we party till the break of dawn!!!!
Moving to the beach on the 1st of next month

Welcome, im sure you will fit right in. Miami Drivers are the worst, if you can drive here you can drive anywhere but anyways i live in DoraL and the nearest coin car wash would be on 87ave and South West 8st in a Chevron gas station. That one is even closer than the one "AJserrano" mentioned. So i guess i will see you in the neighborhood or at the meets

Biggerss,

I lived downtown off Woodward right next to the stadiums. Had season tickets for 2 years, then I moved. Now the Tigers are the best team in baseball. Probably a hike for you, but there is a Blue Martini here in West Palm. Same ownership I have been told. Drivers down here do suck, but you are used to 696 so you will be fine.

Later,

Detroit

That area is definitely a cool place to live for a period of time. I knew somebody who lived there until he witnessed a shootout between a gang and the police. In speaking to detectives after the incident they pretty much told him that he had to move because the gang would invariably find him and kill him as a witness.

The one thing I have noticed about Miami traffic being similar to 696 is that I go insane driving at the same speed as the flow of traffic: I get cut off and people generally exposed to people drivinglike shit. If I go 5-10 mph faster than everybody else, they just become moving cones and I stay much happier.
