Default Now for something completely different..Exhausts

Alright, I need to pull from the expertise of this group and anyone peeking in at our great forum. It is time for a new mod for my '02 Formula Red. I am considering new rims and/or new exhaust.

The exhaust is where I have questions. I have found out this info for now. Please feel free for opinions and ideas. All I ask is the info be accurate.

Name HP bump Price
Spugen (Fyrestrike/Bullet) 3 $850+shipping
Amuse (dual canister) 5-6 $2100+shipping
Invidia (Rateds2k) 4 $620 group buy
R.M. Racing 7 $1049+shippig
RS-REx Mag GT2 4 $940+shipping

My wants are a louder exhaust, but not annoying, quality, reliability, and performance. But not too pricey. I do want a dual exhaust. Let the feedback flow!

Thanks in advance!

Id say your best bet is the Invidia. Great price, great quality, awesome sound, and some performance.

Well now you've done it....asking for opinions...lol..with this group that could be dangerous....

Anyway. I think the Invidia is a great exhaust, However it is too loud for me. I like to hear my sound system more than the car. Let the people behind me hear the exhaust.

I am happy with the NeuSpeed that I have. I have heard rumors that it actually drops HP. I personally don't believe that. The car seemed a bit more responsive, and vtec seemed smother with just the addition of the exhaust. When I added CAI (PRM) the car changed in response and sound. With the Neuspeed, normal driving is not laud and it sounds great at Vtec up to 9k.

I have also seen threads that claim an exhaust will only bring 2-3 HP. So given the tiny performance gains offered by this mod....I say simply get the one that you like and fits your budget...

Good Luck with your search

Many people here say that the Invidia is too loud. However loud is a very relative term. I used to own an Apexi N1 on my Integra, and that, in my opinion, was loud. The Invidia is more of a tastefull, but noticeable sound. It is not farty, and varies with RPM to give you a nice tone burly tone if you ask me.

The best thing to do would be to hear one for yourself. Downloading sound clips really wont work to well, I have heard the same clip on three different comps that sound totally different.

I would like to thank the opinions. Keep them coming.

On the Invidia, Rateds2k has one, and even though I have not riden in the car they do come with silencers like Tidalwdave said.

I did drive Bullet's and he has the spugen. A bit loud but calmed down upon a shift.

Hunter has a different spugen and that I have not heard, in or out of the car. He has the traditional muffler look as Fyrestrike and Bullet have the canisters.

However, the deal on the Invidia is attractive. However, keep the info coming. I only want to spend the money once.

also, instead of listing HP, why don't you list weight? that is more important.
