You know were they can run the s2000 and they don't is in SPEED World Challenge http://www.world-challenge.com/. When they came down to Sebrings to run during AMLS series in March I spoke to one of the Honda/Acura team techs as to why they didn't use an s2000. He said it was because they fall apart and it was more expensive to maintain. Instead they are running a rsx and a tsx in the touring class. ANd honestly if you look at the 2005 point standings they don't need to run an s2000.
Actually, the reason they don't run an S2000 in Touring is because they can't. The touring class in Speed GT has no provisions for cars with no back seat, much like Grand Am.

The only reliability problem associated with an S2000 is its powerplant. The TSX/RSX motor is much stronger and more reliable but the chassis on those cars pales in comparison to the AP1/2.

But in the SPEED GT class they can. And they would also be allowed to use FI.

I don't think the S2000 is classified as a 'touring' car.
As a matter of fact, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any convertible is classified as a touring car.

right?

Ok I will. Here is the official website. http://www.world-challenge.com/carfacts.html

And here is what it says.

Grand Touring (GT): Includes a variety of production displacements with no maximum. Forced induction is permitted and is used to equalize individual models. Sedans, coupes, convertibles and two-seat models are permitted. The cars can be rear-wheel, or all-wheel drive. Class horsepower range is 425-550 bhp.

So in other words that Amuse s2000 would be able to run in the SPEED Grand Touring (GT) class and be with in the specs. And I honestly think the Amuse s2000 would dominate that series. So who whants to start a racing team...... Yeah... I am ready.
