Totally understandable, that's why to each his own- but key word: it's FREE.

I'd just prefer not to be in that environment at all. The spot started going down hill a long time ago, and just got overrun with high school kids in single cams running from 40 rolls all up and down either side of the highway with no regard for anyone else on the road. As stated, the cops DO know about it, but generally seem to leave it alone unless it gets too out of hand. I stopped going when I noticed too many slow cars pretending to be fast, a lack of respect for anything/anyone, and the fact that I saw quite a few of the "Drivers" sipping on 6 packs they bought at the sunoco. Even if things have drastically changed from when I last went (and from what I hear they havent), I still have no desire to head down there and even put myself in that position anymore. There just is not a viable option for street racing anymore in south florida IMO.

No offense to the OP, this is just my experience with okechobee

look, I totally agree- im not saying im not. there ARE a lot of dumbass jits out there that do stupid shit like peel out in the middle of the gas station and all that crap. I laugh at half of the stuff I see out there. but just stay away from those guys b/c not everyone is like that. There are some very fast cars that come- you have to hang out with the right sub-crowds.

races dont start till later anyway- a lot of people go to chill at the sunoco station and check out the rides or whatever and theres nothing illegal about that.

Ive been going because I don't know anywhere else where they have big street meets (except the fudruckers on thursdays but thats for bikes), and its always something to do when im bored. If you guys know any other places where they have big street meets accordingly, then feel free to let me know. Its always nice to check out other rides and meet some people.

in conclusion: if your looking for something to do, see you there. if not, then dont go. either way is perfectly understandable.

like I said, I've been plenty of times, just not recently. But I give you props, I've seen some of your videos and the car moves pretty well, it's nice to see someone with an s2000 that can hang with some of the quicker cars out there.

This is damn near in my backyard. I always hear copious amounts of engine noise on friday nights. Never been out there though just because of some of the stories I heard.
