Smile Regarding Stolen Seats...

Ok where should I begin? Since the start of this year there has already been three S's vandalized and had their seats stolen. It is uterly unnaceptable how pathetic these theives are! So in order to help out eachother in the future (which hopefully we will not have to do), I believe that everyone should take the initiative to mark and photograph thier headlights, seats, and any other part of the S that might seem interesting to these individuals. Remember to photograph the markings (be it vin #, initials, ect.) on the item, and any particular wear that the item may have. Do not loose these pics, put them away and hope to never have to use them. If you do end up being vandalized, remember that you have these pictures that clearly show your markings on the stolen items which you can show to the police and post up on the board here so we can keep an eye out for eachothers belongings. I cannot count how many times me and Cpram have been confronted at the hangouts with people selling parts from a S2000. Just last week after we spoke with acrcadence about his situation we saw a civic with red S seats drive by us, we got pictures of it's tag and the seats, incase they were acadence's. Lets try to help eachother out in hard times like these, where so much injustice goes without punishment.

P.S. I have been lucky to only have my antenna stolen, although that shouldn't happen in the first place. Lets see if we all make a difference and change the way these investigations eventually get thrown out to the unsolved pile, because they end up at a dead end. Mods consider also posting this somehwere else where all owners may consider taking these actions.

I agree totally. If needs be, I have a couple dremels people can use to engrave their VIN/ DL # or whatever other markings on the seats, lights, etc. This is a must, because even if you do recover your artifacts (and everyone knows their own stuff like if it was their child) there's nothing you can do in the eyes of the law without some markings of proof. Take the steps to do this, and photograph everything as well. It's a hassle, but maybe it'll help out.

If you don't want to pay $60 for Kodokan's locks, I invested in about 5 sets of special bolts that will deter theft but not prevent it. I'll sell them for my cost - about $5 per set.

I think they are just like regular wheel locks, you can just drill 'em right off. You do know that right? We aint working with amatuers we are working with professionals that have this thing down tight. I know i will be thinking up some different ideas on how to deter or at least give them a harder time taking off the seats, but i WILL NOT be posting it here for all to see. Then what will the point be??

First I will have my not so nice dog sleeping in the car..... is that legal??

My thoughts...

Don't go to anymore ricer meets in your S2000. No more Towers, no more Thursday nights at Bird Road. These punks might follow you home, stalk you out, wait a week or two and suddenly one morning you wake up with a hole in your roof and your seats are in a Civic with a big fart can exhaust.

However go to the ricer meets in another car, if you have a daily driver, or borrow your parent's, girlfriend's, tia's, abuelo's, whatever. Start taking photos of all the little ricer mobiles with S2000 seats and forward them to the local police. They probably won't do shit but if they get enough, someone will put down the donut and might decide to do some real cop work for a change. I do know a couple of cops and have offered my own S2000 as bait if they ever wanted to do a crackdown on seat theft.

Get two different set of seat locks, each with an unique key.

Get an alarm with shock and motion sensors. 2 way paging preferred.

Those of you that do not have a garage, get a car cover. Make it harder for the thieve to get to your shit.

Get an 802.11b/g Wireless Camera and point that shit at your S2000. Some have a motion sensor that will only start recording when motion is detected. I recommend this one - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...8088&CatId=1322

If you or you know someone into some ill shit, revenge can be a bitch.

Get a pitbull.

Get a gun.

Those paranoid should do all of the above or simple move/buy a house with a garage and gated security. I opted for the latter.

Hey i want to be a cop and i have family that are good cops! I know you say this in good fun but it does not help any one.

Look last week my step father's BSO cruisers rear window was bashed in by a brick IN FRONT OF OUR HOUSE! In the same area (ON THE SAME NIGHT) 2 other cars were striped and a year ago my old civic was striped. Even tho it is our problem that is more apparent it does not just happen to us. Law Enforcement agencies are doing every thing they can to help us and the thousands of other people who have even bigger problems every night. So please ( and i am asking in a non-mocking manner) try not to bash cops because a few are dicks or because you see one in front of a DD (before he goes home to his family) after being involved in a shoot out between two gangs and the cops. Yea I'm sure cops are doing everything they can... so much that when Cindy had her seats stolen they even refused to go out to her house to take a police report.

Please dude, I have a few close friends who are cops (1 FHP, 2 Metro-Dade, one is in the gang unit, the other is in auto theft). I know what they do and don't do and believe me, this is NOT high on their priority list.

Even my brother who's a firefighter called.. nothing, didn't work. Of course he was upset since he always hurrys up to a call ESPECIALLY if it's one of their (police officers) family members. Let's just say he let them have it.

Brother in law's best friends who is a detective in MDPD, and his father who is high up on the food chain at MDPD, said it wasn't a "high priority" that nothing was going to come of it.

Finally had to have "friends" do the detective work for me, and when i gave ALL the information to the actual MDPD detective who was working on my case, still nothing was done.

Now I am not saying all are sitting at Kripsy Kreme, and I know all have more work load to do with murders, shootings, strong armed robberies, but there is a division in the police department that deals with car thefts. They should actually do something to find out who's doing this. Now all we are all stuck with his higher insurance rates because the claims placed against our cars.

Now ask everyone who's had their seats stolen on this board and ask them if they ever caught anyone, or if they ever even heard back from a detective.
