Rotor Problem, needs resurfacing!
Guys, the rotors that were done on tech day look great with the exception of....you got it...the left rear (where the pads were put on backwards). As a result of this, there are
minute grooves in the surface of the rotor (due to the metal on metal contact) and after it rains, it looks just like the old S2000 rusty rotors. All the others show no effects of the rain. I was told I would have to remove the rotor and get it resurfaced (which should take 20 minutes or so I gather) to get rid of the grooves but one shop owner (who took a look) said they weren't that bad and recommended a resurfacing.
However, I don't have the tools to remove the rotor down here and was wondering where I could go to get this done while I wait? Any recommendations? This rotor looks like crap alongside the others and I don't want to have to buy a new one.

Russ you said after it rains. The rotor will get surface rust on the face every time it rains. Mine do it all the time. What won't rust is the edge and the cap portion since it is zinc or cadium plated. How deep are the grooves. Minor grooves should not be a problem.
but I would recommend to resurface the rotor so later it does not become a problem. My tercel feels like crap cuz I changed my pads and never looked at the condition of the rotors and now they are so warped that I have to use the e-brake
The thing dances and goes up in smoke while braking from 40 MPH+ speeds
ok the rotors are probably 2 for $10 but I don't have the time or 10 bucks besides $10 can give me a good 100+ mile drive worth of gas in my S2000
.
Russ if you want I will find a place near me that can resurface the rotors..then you can drive up hear one day and we will use my tools to take the rotor off, and i will take you and the rotor in my car to be resurfaced.....
