hi guys, new to this forum, I currently own a 2000 Subaru Impreza gc8. Im not an s2k owner yet. I haven't pulled the trigger due to the theft rate here in soflo. I currently live in Miami Beach (south beach). I have access to an inside garage and I also have a guest parking spot outside that I occasionally use. What do you guys recommend?

 

I'm unaware of the theft rate in your area but strongly recommend an individual, private locked garage. Not merely indoor storage at an apartment or condo with dozens of cars and access.

Very "nice" video posted in the last week of a locked S2000 in what looks like an apartment indoor storage area (several cars) having the roof slashed and the roof frame mangled to allow entrance to the car over the side without opening the doors and setting off any alarms. Really painful to watch the thieves working at their leisure on this. No haste evident. No one intervening (I think -- it was too painful to watch.)

Hey man. Typically, if you have an enclosed garage, you'll be fine. As long as you're not routinely street parking your S2000, you shouldn't have any problems.There was a rash of S2000 thefts years ago, but that trend seems to be waning. Miami Beach is also not a hotspot for S2000 thefts.
