Default Speed trap warning

As you can guess by the title I got a speeding ticket this weekend. I was leaving the LA Fitness on 41st in Doral, I went down through 97 ave (the one that goes through the gated communities) Well, I get to 58th street and make a right onto 58th. There is no one coming either way for 2-3 blocks so I take to 6k in first and second and left off when I hit third, I just wanted to hear the engine rev a bit (not a huge crime or dangerous) well I get about half way down the block and then flags me to pull over.

He was hiding in the little Fire Station that is there on the south side of 58th street. He got me going 55 in a 35.

He was cool, even told me since I have a clean record I could do the school and get no points and to be careful in Doral cause they are real strict.

I know a lot of you guys work/live out in Doral so I figured I would look out for fellow S2Kers, I'm not pissed or anything cuz I he got me fair and square, I wanted to have a little fun and it was just my day to get busted, so oh well...

(By the way, we should have a thread somewhere for this....)

Yup... Doral speed traps are notorious. BTW I think you mean 97 ave. They are all over the place at all times weekends and weekdays. On 41st they're hiding in the center... Oh, and at Krispy Kreme (no joke intended)... So word to the wise, don't speed in Doral...

FYI - I know there's one on 67th ave Northbound right between sw 24th st and sw 16th st. He's been there several times a week in the mornings for months now. I usually see him around 8:15-8:30. Motorcycle cop, stands right next to a repair shop with his bike up against a short wall so it doesn't stand out and he just catches people there. It's a 35mph zone. He's only pointed the radar gun at me once, and I pass by there every day for work, so I don't think he's over zealous, but some people fly through there and those seem to be the one he gets. Careful out there.

I live in doral, the fire station on nw 58th st. is a given. They're always there. Going N on 107 ave., they also hide on the right by the hut on the golf course. NW 36 st, coming to doral from palmetto at night, they're everywhere. Doral is no joke, the last 3 speeding tickets i've gotten in teh past 3 years are all in doral.

They also love to hide near the New Shool on 107th, in the construction. I've only lived in Doral for a few months, but I see speed traps daily, just don't speed in Doral.

Was the officer on a motorcycle?
Did he give you the citation via a Blackberry?
Did he print the citation from a mini printer on his belt?
What's his name?
If it's A. Acosta, let me know. In fact who ever it is let me know the name.
