Default Stolen S2000 seats

Hi,

I have been a member for some time but never posted, always lurked.

I left for a week on vacation and came back today at 5am to find the car with the top cut out and the seats gone.

They took the seats '06 red/black, the stock shiftknob, floormats. They cut the top, and cut the seat harness and seatbelt only on the passenger side. The guys that did it sure knew what they were doing as they knew it was an '06 and probably needed the passenger side harness.

The car has Volk wheels and HKS exhaust but those were not touched.

I live in a gated community off of Hypoluxo Rd and the turnpike in Lake Worth.

I called the cops right away and now Allstate but I am sure they will try to give me used seats ... any advise on what the next steps should be? I am definitely taking off the wheels today until I get this sorted.

I rather get the money from Allstate and install the seats/top myself, but not sure they will agree to do that.

Thanks for any input.

J

Toledo,

The reason why I mentioned the used parts is because back in may my wife's car was hit and the person took off, so I called allstate. They would only replace the fender with a used one, keep in mind the car is a 2005.

Nowadays, insurance companies try to do that as much as they can. They usually have the excuse that the car is not new anyways. I had to pay $200 extra on top of my deductible to get a new fender.

Whether I am in good hands or not, I am not sure. I will let you know when my car is back to the way it was.

well R1 pilot that's very sad to hear specially from such a reputable company like "AllState"...anyhow I doubt they will find any used parts for S2000..its not like u can just go to a junkyard and hand pick the desired parts for your S. Specially the seats....that for sure they wont find them used unless its from a private owner. Well good luck on that and next time you see the commercial of "AllState" stating "you are in good hands" tell your agent that's the biggest b/s. Try Ocean Harbor Casualty.. that's what I have and never had problem with them, with the only difference that since they are not florida based...they take some time to come see ur car..but they pay full dealer prices for ur parts.... I have been in 2 incidents and they have been great.

This what alstate told me when i got hit months back. If a car has more then 7000 miles even if the a year ahead(ea is 2007 and the car is a 2008) to them they need to find used parts. but what every one know is s2000 in junk year are not easy to find. With me they called 3 places couldnt find anything so they sent me to rick case honda

you are the owner of the car, and the repaires have to meet your approval. tell them in n o uncertain terms, that new honda factroy parts are the only things you will accept, they may bitch, but they will do it your way
