Thumbs up The Suspension Quest

To know what type of improvement your car has gained and what power you have summond for it is as simple as taking it onto a dyno with a few pulls and getting a graph reading with data on the power your car is putting out, only then you will know what the benjamins have done for you. But with Suspension, even stock is by far complex to most people. Things like Spring rates, Dampering, Camber, Toe and etc..

So chime in and give your input on your Suspension systems and what specs you are pushing aswell as what you like about it, Ride, Height, some of your experiances with suspensions can very well help some of us on here make a wise choice as to what way we wanna show off or perform our stance. Whatever it is you rock TEIN, BILSTEIN, J's Racing, JIC, KW, MOTON, APEXi, BUDDY CLUB even Stock CR suspension is making noise in it being a well factory tuned suspension(Believe it or not). Bring it on guys/gals!

For me its been BILSTEIN PSS since i switched from springs to a coilover system. Its been good to me and handled great which is something the Germans have over the Japs "Handling" The PSS is your average Coilover system with 2 springs, The actual spring and the lower helper spring, its a simple function with hight adjustability and no damper setting option unlike the PSS9 I have no complains about Bilstein and has treated my ride very well and handling ofcourse. But for me its time to move on and looking into a wider based coilover with the height adjusting, shock adjusting height and the dampering feature, so that i can get in more tune with the Suspension world

I'm running Amuse hi tech dampers coilovers, hehe best ride Ive ever had doesn't come with top hats nor you can adjust the damping, but damn when i go at it around corners, they hug the corner and when under normal driving the coils ride exactly like stock ap1. i love these coils and i will push the money to get another set if anything does happen =o)

Word, the only issue with both the OEM & CR suspension is the lack of height adjustability which prevents you from cornerweighting the car. This isn't really an issue if the car is mostly stock because it comes pretty close to optimal from the factory. Once you lighten the car or add a rollcage/forced induction, etc then height adjustability is needed to re-cornerweight the car.

At that point:

For sticky R compounds and a terrible street ride: KW V3/Clubsport, Custom valved Koni Race, Custom spring/valve K-Sports, Moton, Penske, JRZ, Tein SRC, etc.

For street tires 100 treadwear & higher: Bilstein PSS/PSS9 (soft springed), KW V2, Koni yellows, H&R, Tein Flex (poor valving/stiff springed), Buddy Club (punishing ride, poor adjustability).

It is well known in regard to our wonderful OEM suspension, although like Fyrestrike states its the lack of adjustability that puts us "owners" in a dilemma.

For me, I just purchased a set of:

Tein Comfort Sports, quality ride, not to much of an aggressive drop, but still has adjustability capabilities which our beloved suspension does not.
