Default They almost got me!

I rarely ever post here, in part for fear that I may be the next one to be targeted for my car. Well, it had to happen to me too.

Someone slashed my top, but they must have seen someone in the parking lot and gotten spooked before they could take anything.

AT MY WORKPLACE!

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY (~11:00AM)!

IN A COVERED PARKING LOT, THAT SUPPOSEDLY HAS SECURITY!

Yes, I park my car in my home garage at night. No I don't have an alarm (lesson learned, I guess). I just never thought this would actually happen at work.

I guess now I know how you guys that have been vandalized feel, although I can imagine you were much more pissed - I still have my seats and interior is in one piece.

I am sick to my stomach - part of me just wants to sell the car and not have to wonder when is the next time I'm going to be targeted. At this point I don't know how much difference an alarm is going to make. I'm another hostage - can't take the god damned car anywhere. What's the point?

This is ****ing out of hand.

Rodan lets do something, lets get that anger and feeling to sell the car and compress it in a little box and just keep on adding more into the little box with time and when you catch of of those MOFOS just open the little box on their asses and let them bleed to death. I think that will cure my problem and Im not selling my car for no ASSHOLE but I would seel their head on EBAY when I catch one.

Diablo99V,

I am right there with you. I understand what you're saying, but the concern here is that I was targeted at work during the day.

Not exactly the best sense of security if you know what I mean. I will take the necessary precautions, as it is and has never been my intention to get rid of my car because of a little trouble (I will get over it eventually, but I ****ing hate the fact that no matter where you are in S. Florida some asshole will always want this car's seats and other parts) It's quite unfortunate that our current legal system prevents me from setting up my car to electrocute anyone who touches it or to shoot suspicious people on sight. As you can imagine, the company that manages my building is taking zero responsiblity or accountability for today's events, even though they have security guards on premises.

Any advice is welcome. I know this is something most of us have unfortunately had to deal with.

Thanks.

Repair Tips are welcome. Cut is about 12 inches long mostly straight across, but it cuts at a right degree at the end, then another inch or two sideways. Right now all I've got is Gorilla Tape on it. As it is, the car is not going with me to work until I take further precautionary measures.

Rodan, I'm sorry to hear about your damage, I would feel the same way, I garage my car at home, but it sits outside at work, I found a high pedestrian traffic area where a lot of the employees walk from one building to the other, that way IMO there is less risk of a stranger approaching the car, maybe you can do the same where you work. To fix the tear you could go to an upholstery shop and buy a piece of the same material as your top, cut the material 1" bigger all around and get contact cement, apply it heavy on the inside of your top and on the patch piece, wait until it dries (15 min. or so) and stick it on, you may need an extra set of hands to keep it aligned properly as you are applying the patch. Sorry to hear they caused damage, but thankfully the reallly expensive stuff is still there.

Can't stand parking garages out of the Keys.
Parked in a Ft. Lauderdale hotel garage once, couldn't stand not seeing it so I brought it up front and parked it under my window and kept watch until 3 when some guy was getting too close.

I have a .22 rifle and a 20 guage shotgun...but dammit, things like this make me wish I had a small pistol
