I'm just a few hundred miles from officially having slicks for rears. I'm about to place an order with Tirerack, but I will need to select an installer to mount them. Does anyone have a solid recommendation near Plantation (davie, sunrise, ft. lauderdale, weston, etc.). Has anyone had trouble getting installers to use stick-on balance weights as Honda recommends, instead of the clamp on style? I know tirerack has their 'recommended installer' lists, but I'd rather get a personal recommendation.

Also, before I place my order, does anybody have a local hookup that is close to tirerack's price (~$360 w/shipping)? If I can do it all at one place for close to that, I may choose to save myself the extra step.

Thanks!

S02's should be 22550/16. and S03's should be 245/45/16. Pm Firestrike, he recomended a place in Miami for me. was in and out in less than 20 min (rears only) and the bill came to a little more than 400 with mounting , balancing, and tax

When I priced S03's form the tire rack, they were about 180 each plus shipping, local m ounting and balancing can cost anywhere from 10-20 each tire

Pepe's is the name i think

The place that I am going to use for my new rims is Good Roads at the corner of Commercial and Powerline.

Rateds2k, Bullet, and many others recommend this place. Price quote to me to mount and balance $20 per wheel for 18".

Good luck!

I used to go to Tires Plus in Weston with the S, and the integra. They would give me the tires for Tire Rack prices and since I was there so often with oil changes, and mounting/ dismounting, they would either give me the mounting or give me a pretty steep discount. Josh has had some bad runnings with them, but I guess I have been fortunate.

I spoke to Chip at MTS Automotive about this a while back. MTS is the place that a bunch of us always recommend when people are looking for a good shop in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Anyway, Chip doesn't do it at his place, but did tell me a few places in the Davie area that he would use. The only one that's coming to mind is Davie Tire (I think it's located on Orange Drive, west of 441).

If you want to know the others, give Chip a call.

I've had new S03's sitting in my garage for about 3 weeks now....gotta get them put on soon!

I had the Rick Case in Weston install a new set of tires S02 in my S and it was cheaper than Tire Rack, the job was perfect no scratches on the rims or balance problems.

I'm sticking with S-02s all the way, Mitch.

Rick Case looks like the quick and easy solution. The price they quoted me is only about $25 more than what the tirerack total would be (with shipping). Plus they have 2 rears in stock.

I just gotta make sure they stay away from the air wrenches. Last time my wife's car was in, some NASCAR pit crew wannabe rounded the corners off every single lug nut.

Ahhhh, fresh tires..... $400 out the door at Rick Case, including mounting and sales tax. Tirerack would have been a 3 week wait, $360-370 to my door, plus install. Not bad, IMHO.

Glad I got it done today, too, it started raining cats and dogs as soon as I left the dealership.

Thanks everybody!
