Dan, your way out of line there. Your calling me names because I lost someone close to me? I'll just ignore that last comment. Or perhaps we can discuss this part of your post in person
No, I'm not calling you names because you lost someone close to you, that had nothing to do with it. To quote you again, "I guess you won't understand until the day comes that your on your phone with a close friend as you watch him die on national television." You made a logical fallacy, claiming I wouldn't understand the situation unless it was someone close to me being lost. THAT'S why I called you the names, because you made immediate (and wholly incorrect) assumptions about me and the incidences in my life, you made personal attacks without first understanding where I was coming from. Just like you're claiming I did, you didn't think, you merely reacted.

You have absolutely NO EARTHLY IDEA of what I PERSONALLY lost on 9/11, so DON'T bring your self-righteous, holier than thou BS on me...what I lost that day can never be replaced, just like your friend. Is your loss somehow greater than mine because you were unfortunate enough to see it on TV? The difference is, I don't use it as an excuse to tell people to agree with my opinion or off. I look at it as a tragedy that should never have happened, but MY life goes on and I continue to push for change in my OWN way. I know this country affords me the opportunity to speak my mind, but it's obviously something YOU'VE forgotten...I can speak my mind, whether or not you agree with it.

I'm sorry if you didn't appreciate my style of humor, my attempt to show my dissatisfaction at how this country has slowly neutered itself to the point where we can't even solve our own problems, forget solving the problems that exist in other countries. Even in my attempt to let the situation blow over, you insisted on making the attack personal, naively and arrogantly thinking and believing that your situation was somehow worse off than mine, that somehow this gave YOU the right to downplay my role in the universe. My humor may be a bit dark (and evidently misunderstood) at times, but sometimes I think it's the only thing I have left in the world that keeps me from going insane thinking about what's been lost in my life over the years.

Dan, it would be in your better judgement to leave this alone now.
I tried, but sometimes you just have to speak up for yourself, and for those who can't do it for themselves...

Dan, I think why Jeff and many of us think what you said was not only stupid but amazingly offensive is that even though your point might be valid (about getting rid of the politicians and starting over), making light of 9/11 makes you sound like an insensitive supreme jackass, as opposed to just a conventional jackass.

In what alternate universe does that kind of statement actually seem within the bounds of good taste? Forgive us for having a hard time believing you give a shit about what happened on 9/11. Next you will be telling us America deserved what happened

I will tell you this: If/when there is another 9/11, maybe you will be lucky enough to be at ground zero so that some other jackass can make light of your death after it happens.

I have to say that it doesn't have to do with not only the victims of 9/11 but of all the SOLDIERS men and woman who have lost their lives fighting for the rights of this country. The freedom we breath every day.

They aren't fighting for shits and giggles they are fighting to prevent asswipes like the terrorist of destorying this great country of ours. If you are going to think that this system is wrong.. great fine think whatever you like. But until you VOTE and make your voice heard.. you should keep your mouth shut. Because you can talk all you want, but what matters is going out on Tuesday and voting to make that change actually happen, instead of sitting back and talking out your ass.

Dan, I will never understand how by my calling someone a "ignorant racist redneck" for making a clearly racist remark is ignorant and even racist itself. If you want to think that, hey thats your opinion.

From Webster Dictionary -

ignorant
destitute of knowledge or education

racist
a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

redneck
a white person regarded as having a provincial, conservative, often bigoted attitude

Are any of these terms in the context that I used them ignorant or racist? No.

I'm sorry about your personal losses, all of us were effected in one way or another from 9/11. I have had extreme personal losses as well. However with all due respect I don't give a shit what you lost, it doesn't give you the right to make 9/11 into your little twisted dark joke of the day. Its out only in bad taste, but displays deep ignorance on your part and insulting to those victims of 9/11, our military aboard who are fighting for all of us, including assholes like yourself.

My final point is that you don't vote. Then IMO STFU.
