I wanted to see if anyone was interested in any weekly meets?

I know some of the guys have a meet in Kendall but for me that's pretty far for me personally and anyone more north or broward.

Any suggestions or opinions post up in here and let see if we can get something going.

Well....years back I used to post up for weekly meets here and even in Orlando when I was living there also.

Basically we could suggest a different location maybe every week or even the same. Different city each week so everyone gets a shot at not having to drive too far.

These are the things that we would always do that I can remember.

Restaurants?
Roll out to other meets?
Pool hall idk if they even call them that?
Bowling?
Strip club?
Tech day you guys just had which was a great idea...possibilities are endless

I'm not sure what members are still here on the forums anymore that could chime in.

K1 Speed is a fun time and open until 10 during the week.
Haven't gone by the one in Miami yet, but the one in Chicago had a restaurant & bar in it

 

The issue with doing regular weekly meets is that, often times, no one comes out. It will just be me and like three other people, if that. The thing about the Wednesday meets down south is that they've been happening for almost ten years now. I'm open to anything, and remember, you don't have to be a CO to make these things happen. Run it by me (more just for formatting purposes than anything) and feel free to schedule events yourself.

K1 speed sounds like a good time, but I'm not sure about doing that every week. I've heard it's pretty pricey. Maybe we could do a monthly meet there?

I suggest we do something drive-in, like Sonic Beach (they have beer and shit). Pool halls are also a great idea, and I know one in Miami Lakes that we could go to that's pretty nice, and again has a pretty comprehensive bar.

 

Ricky those all sound good to me. I also don't mind once and a while driving down to Kendall for a Wednesday meet just not weekly pretty far. Let's set something up and keep it updated so anyone can have a good idea in advance what's going on for that week. Sonic beach sounds good that's a popular hangout what every thursday?

Also we could let people know via Instagram or Facebook because I'm not sure everyone checks the forums.

 

I don't know where you're driving from, but I drive from Miami Lakes to Kendall Drive every Wednesday for the meet. Other's drive from homestead. You have to understand dude, it's not even really about the cars anymore. We're all friends, and nobody complains about making the drive. What we tend to do is carpool, so my friend Alex will come over to my place and we'll take one car, or vice versa. If you're in Broward, I understand, but if you're in Dade, I highly encourage you to try and make the meet. If we have to carpool, I'm okay with that.

Now if you'd like to do something closer to the north, thats fine with me. I'd show up, as I have no reason not to. Now, do I think we should blast it on facebook and instagram? Eh, yes and no. You have to understand, these meets will again not be all about the cars. Chances are we'll go inside somewhere, bullshit, play pool, and leave late as f@#k. The crowd that go to the Los Thursday meets or whatever generally aren't into that sort of thing. They're more of a "park car, stand next to it, leave" kind of crowd, which is okay, but different. These are the kind of people that probably wouldn't enjoy meeting up to BS every week.

It's up to you and the other members of this forum, ultimately. If you still feel like you need to have as many people at a meet to justify going, fine. Blast that shit on instagram. I have never felt that way, and I've found that the kind of people that would come to these meets repeatedly don't do it for the friendships. Rather, they do it so their cars can be "insta-famous."

To be honest I would like to meet some new people and hangout that's the main reason I would want to go. As you can see from my Instagram I rarely show pics of any of my cars mainly because I'm not into that kinda stuff and I'm paranoid haha. Are you guys meeting this Wednesday? I might just come out this week and meet all of you guys. I lost touch with a lot of the s2000 after selling my other 2 s2000s I had. I definitely don't want to put to much attention through Instagram to be honest. Either way let's try and figure out a weekly or bi weekly something something that's appeals to the majority.

As far as other meets? These Los Thursdays? Idk anything about at all never been. Also I've heard sonics has a. Weekly or bi weekly meet on Thursday but I don't know if that's still going on?

I think that sonic meet got canceled, and the los thursday one that used to be in weston got moved to K1.
