Default What would you do?

I'm keeping my car, and the insurance company has settled with me. Now comes the decision as to what I'm going to do for seats. I like the stock seats, but I'm considering other options and wanted to get some of your opinions. I've also included pictures of the seats and harness bar. The bar would be black on a Berlina Black S2000, and the seats would be red leather. I'm polling because I'm not quite sure how I like the look of the harness bar. Thanks for the feedback.

arc.

well, if you track your car at all, i would go for the bride setup if it is in your budget. they already took your stock seats, so getting another set of stocks doesn't make you immune to anything. but then on the flipside of that, the brides might attract some attention. so, pick your poison.

Here is what I have noticed regarding seat theft. so far only 1 car with locks has been successfull (Jonathan) ripped. the other factor is none of the other cars had alarms with proximity sensors. If they cut your top and the alarm goes off, odds are they will haul ass. So I would get seat locks, new or used, won't really matter. Hopefully, I will be talking with a detective in the next week or two to see if we can do anything to catch these pricks. If we come up with a solution, it will not be posted. It will be circlated via email or word of mouth. I would consider ebay, to replace the seats, or if you want the bride style, go that route. My guess is that the seats being stolen are not being sold, i think they are being used in little ricer cars. take a walk around tower shops on a friday night and see how many S2000 seats you can find in ricer mobiles

good luck

Mitch

How tall are you?
The harness bar really takes alot of the room behind the seat, and any of us that are taller than 5'-6" know how valuable that space is.

Buy used Stock seats on ebay for a lot cheaper than at the dealer (trust me i know first hand) then pocket the balance of the $$ for other mods on the car.

I'm 5'6 so leg room won't be too much of an issue. I understand the ups and downs for going either route, however at this point I'm just wondering aesthetically, what people thought about the harness bar. I've never seen one in person myself, and the picture that I got doesn't do too much justice.

As for the ebay route, I'd like to get my car back into shape ASAP, and having to wait on ebay for a pair of red leather seats and then having to wait for the auction to end will just keep me out of my car longer and longer.

I fully intend to have the Clifford Matrix 3.5 w/ the 2 way pager and proximety sensor installed probably before I even put the new seats in.

And I would love to be in some sting operation to help catch those bastads. PM me when you get some details. And find out if I can bring along a taser for when we catch in the act.

Sorry didn't realize the red seats. I'm thinking more "Black". I will look at my bill again on exactly how much the seats ran me from the dealer. I think it was like $5,800 with a discount.

I like the bride seat idea, don't think they have been stolen as often as the stock seats and still might be a lot cheaper than the stock. I personally wouldn't be able to do the harness set up because I'm 5'8".

holy sh1t!!!! i knew they were a lot, but i didn't know they were that much.
i would collect that $5800 from my insurance, then buy sideways' black seats for like $1100 and have the $4700 left to go to mods.

Yep,

Black seats will work. and then you can get the brides too and have an extra set for next time...., then you can have red inserts custom done (Stocks) ...would be a great look

BTW Taser's are legal just about anywhere, you don't even need a concealed permit for one.. I have one too
