if you want name brand wheels, look for a deal in the for sale section of this site and hope for a low ball offer to be accepted.

otherwise you are looking at lesser brands.....especially if that budget has to include tires as well.

My suggestion would be to take the $1500 your moms going to give you, save up another $500 of your own money and wait for some good condition used wheels to come up for sale on the forums. If not buy RPF1s... or Rotas.

On my MR2 I went through three sets of wheels and I got 'em all on rbwheels.com. Some of the prices look outrageous and all but just lowball 'em hardcore and they honestly usually take it. My staggered set of BBS RS's were listed for $900 and I got 'em for $500 shipped (Granted, not an expensive wheel, and it would probably look like crap on an S but it fit the '2 nicely).
Just an idea...
Most of the time they'll be in fair condition, but you'd probably save enough money to have 'em refinished in whatever finish you want AND get tires with $1500 to burn through.

I was also recommend this place but I wasn't sure how reliable they were. Crazy that you can make offers to those guys. I had no idea about that. How did you manage to work with em?
