There is NO WAY they won't total that out. But it can't hurt to kick out the headlight and taillight just to be safe... maybe crack the windshield/dent the A-pilar too.

In all seriousness, glad you're ok... good testament to the safety of the S2000.

I'm not an insurance adjuster... But KBB says an 02 with 40K on it is worth about $12,000 Private Party ($9000 Trade In). The threshold is *usually* about 50% of the total worth of damage, so in this case $4500-$6000.

Looking at those pics... I see more then that. Repairing the Unibody (rear fenders) alone just about does it IMO, not to mention rear bumper, trunk, door, front fenders, front end and all the misc to make everything work together.

As far as buyout - once they determine the amount of damage they subtract that from fair market value, and the remainder is the buyout price. I guess talk to your adjuster and report back.

Good Luck.

You should've towed it to your house ! ... Its always better that way .... oh well.

I've lived in the same area for 6 years ... I still cant believe how many people do not understand what a yield sign is (some think its a stop sign when even no one is coming the other way) and how many people do not understand how roundabouts work !

Those roundabouts are kinda fun though. and dangerous I see.

Sorry to hear Mike, but it seems it has worked out for you. Glad you're ok.
