Whatever they say. If you want a little more torque, refined interior, stiffer chassis, better handling etc go with 04+. If you go with a pre 04 get an 03.

00-01 - most hardcore model, F20C engine with 9,000 RPM redline, stiffest suspension, plastic rear window, carpet center console.

02-03 - F20C engine with 9,000 RPM redline, slightly refined suspension, glass rear window, door tweeters, leather center console, all red interior availability, in my opinion this is the best year to buy.

04-05 - F22C engine with 8,000 redline (Japan and elsewhere retains the F20C), softened suspension, slightly updated exterior (lights and bumpers) and in my opinion looks very nice, 17" wheels.

06+ - F22C engine, VSA and drive by wire, ugly seats, Laguna Blue Pearl.

The chassis is not stiffer.

I don't know about better handling.....didn't they soften it up for 04 to make it more streetable?? less drivers in ditches?

ANYWAY......GO WITH 02-03. period.
