Default Yet another stolen seat thread

I never thought it'd happen to me: my S2000 has no seats. The theives were nice enough to also steal my week old iPod Nano and cut a nice vent in my top. Thankfully, they must have been in a rush, because they never opened my trunk, which contained my work laptop and a cd book full of ALL of my original business software installation CDs. Had they stolen either of those, I would be in a world of shiat to say the least.

When I discovered the car, which was sitting in front of my parents house, I took one look at it, got back in the other car I was using, and headed to the appointment I had scheduled. I was so livid, I just didn't want to deal with it at that moment. I couldn't help but crack up when I saw the MacGyver job my friends pulled off when I asked them to stop by my house and do something to protect the interior from the rain. Classic!

So, as usual, please keep your eyes peeled for a pair of perfect 2004 red/black S2k seats. I've already got my eBay search setup. I'd love to find the bastards that did this.

This is really getting out of control. We need to do something.

I will keep my eyes out for any seats from s2000, I work for a insurance company and am always at body shops.

I see there is a set of black s2000 seats on ebay and the seller is in sunrise?????????

Damm I feel bad for you man. I think they didn't open your trunk is because they can only open with the key fob. As far as I know there is no remote button in the car to open the trunk....hope you get your new seats soon.

Hey...sorry about your seats. My S2000, 2004 Black...here in St. Petersburg had the same deal last week...some pro's sliced my top and just stole my seats. They didn't touch anything else.

I want to put a new 2 way pager alarm in...but $$ is a problem...especially with $500 deductible...sucks. Anyone know of good priced alarm companies here in south Florida. There is such a big price difference from different guys.

I ordered and will put those seat lock bolts in this time...glue / weld them in if necessary...and leave my car unlocked. When I get a new alarm in the next week or so...will also leave it unlocked but armed...

So sorry about the seats...this is crazy and I never imagined this...

^ Yeah you're right. Forgot about that one. I guess if u lock the compartment thieves still won't be able to pop the trunk.

Thanks for the replies guys. There is definitely a trunk release in the storage compartment and I was EXTREMELY lucky not to lose my laptop or CD case, since I had left that compartment unlocked as usual. I'm not sure an aftermarket alarm would have helped me in this scenario...I wasn't home in the pre-dawn hours on Saturday when it happened and I'm not sure the neighbors would have made it out in time to stop the jerks from lifting my seats. I'm kicking myself for not having left the car at my apartment, which has a covered/gated garage. I will definitely be investing in a set of seat locks and giving them to the shop for before they install the new seats.

Regardless, it's shocking that it happened at my parents

sorry to hear about yet another set of seats....

I swaped the powed wires on the trunk button with the 12v outlet. now my trunk won't open unless the key is in the ign, and the 12v out will chage my phone when the car is off. the keyfob still works the trunk when the car is off...

just a thought
