I had a few high end Alpine's and now a high end Pioneer (4 years old though)
Personally, I like the sound quality of the Alpine over the Pioneer.

2nd link doesn't work.

They're both good. I have had both high end Alpine and Pioneer models.

My next purchase will be Pioneer since I've had Alpine for the last 2

Honestly between the 2 (if evenly matched) just go with the one that you think looks better.

Thanks Guys! Yeah I think I will go with Alpine since I have never owned one..............$299 seems pretty fair for a deck. Thx again!

Pioneer all the way! I've owned Pioneer's all my life- atleast half a dozen models. I have both cars equipped with MP3 decks - In comparison to friends Alpines, Kenwoods, Clarions -- by far the best reliability, output and playability comes from the Pioneers. They _never_ skip either.

Also if you are going to connect to amplifiers I would look into number of pre-outs and their voltages.

Pioneer FTW.

Alpine is a little more "advanced" in the config dept. Some see that as a bad thing because it's too confusing for their wee little minds.
