Back to School
Yep, THEOLDMAN is going back to school, starting on the 24th of August. Now all I have to do is come up with what I want to be when I grow up. Since I'm 55 and I know I don't want to get back into remodeling or any of the associated trades with it, I have to have something new to do. I'm looking for something that I could learn in about 2 years starting from ground zero in tech, or communications. (I can tell anyone to go
themselves so I figure why not put it to good use.) Since a lot of you work in tech fields I thought I would ask what your thoughts are.
do whatever drives you most inside..
you may pick up a few diff fields but try to narrow it down to what YOU really enjoy..
In the IT Tech field, there are those who like networking, programming, windows, unix, storage, security.. etc. etc..
regardless, anyone you do choose, requires hours of hard work..
best of luck to you

You're 55, find something that requires skills and wisdoms that younger people don't have. Don't go into front-line IT/tech work, you're too old to put up that kind of bullsh-t. At your age you should be positioning yourself for mentoring/adult supervision roles in whatever field that you have experience in. No school can replace the school of hard knock.
