Honestly i was a little disappointed with how long the batteries lasted...iv found that having a back-up set is VERY useful as i generally got around 30 minutes of filming for fully charged lithium rechargeables.

I havent tested the waterproof aspect nor the shockproof aspect but by the looks of the incasing id say it would definetly hold up well.

I've got one of these camera mounts but I can't tell ya where I got it though as it came with the car. Basically its a simple bar as you see with a tripod screw that goes through it into the standard camera hole. Here is a picture.

My buddy has the GoPro and it is quite cool looking but quality and battery life are typical of a "Made in China" camera.

gopro is soo overpriced for a single suction mount man. the video quality isn't that great. the picture looks distorted and dark.

get the mount i recommended above and get a decent camera for around $100 and I promise you'll be happy. if you think that single suction cup is strong, image two

Unfortunatly i will not be coming to the june track day. Im trying to make it through my second summer without having to change my tires :/

As far as it being overpriced i really have nothing to say, i was finding it difficult to get my hands on a camera that is as convenient as the Hero cam so once i found it i wasnt as concerned about the price. I find the video quality to be good enough for myself, its very clear on any computer monitor or smaller tv screen. The only time the clarity suffers is when you blow it up on a big screen. As far as it being distorted? That may be due to the 170 wide angle, which gives it a cool effect IMO, and iv never had any "dark" issues during the day?

Personally i think one strong mount is more convenient than having two large ones, you can place it in more areas when you have less of a surface area to worry about. Besides the gopro also comes with numerous very small (and strong) dbl sided tape mounts if the surface area is still too small.

Something cool to add, i was recently going through my PAS mag and noticed a ton of cars at professional track/drift events with the gopro camera mounted to their cars. So if its good enough for myself, and good enough for professional drivers, then maybe it will be good enough for you?

as far as i know, those people use rollbar mounts or the monster powr-grip vacuum pump. gopro is mostly used for helmet cam mount.

what i'm looking for is a clamp of some sort to attach it on my rollbar... i'm thinking it would just be easier to make one from aluminum though... anyone have any ideas or want to make 1 ?
