I tried ground control threaded springs, and really didn't have much good to say about them. It's tricky to adjust the rideheight on threaded springs, because you have to make sure the threaded collar doesn't spin with the adjusting nut - and it will, because the threads will get full of road grime in no time, making it difficult to turn the nut. A real coilover doesn't have this problem.

Also, if you go too low, you may run out of shock shaft travel.

I'd suggest you hook up with Nimesh and try out the kg/mm springs he has. That's much more of a plug-and-forget option.

HKS, KG/MM are both really decent for straight coils.

The comptech coilovers "kit" just plain sucks from the info I have been passed.

Peace.

Be careful that the Koni's you are getting have a shortened shaft. I did a GC/Koni setup and within 4 months both front Koni's had exploded their oil all over the wheelwells.

You are better to spend the money for a real coilover - the spring/shock damper is a matched set that has already had lots of R&D on it.

By mixing and matching, the probability that you will reduce the handling ability of the S2000 is much higher than the probability that you will increase it, considering that it is very good right out of the box.

In short be careful.

If you're going to do suspension work, I wouldn't short change it by only buying half a setup.

To me this is only one small step better than cutting your springs. Which.. in case you didn't know.. is a bad idea.

'Course, as usual, I wouldn't change it to begin with (unless you're going to track the car, and even then such a mod would put you out of competition since the car is quick, but not quick enough).
