Considering a return...to the dark side
Yeah, in my opinion just because you are planning to buy a million buck house doesn't mean you can buy the house AND a $50,000-$80,000 car.
And the car will depreciate. In 3-5 years time, you'll be in the market again for something interesting, which will probably be $100k at that time.
There are lots of solid reasons why he'd want another S2k. Personally, I don't think I would. I like the variety of something new and different. But until I trade it in, I'll be tinkering, adjusting, driving and enjoying the S2k to the fullest.

my reasoning, is that if i was in this type of income bracket as one has to be afford such a home, i would not be thinking s2000.
Yes, there are lots of other nice cars out there, but as a die-hard Honda guy who not only loves his cars, but I live to crank that right handlebar grip back and feel the engine between my legs rip up to 11,000, 12,000, 13,000, 14,000 and even 15,000 rpms. No freeking car on the planet ( well other than F1 I expect
) can provide me with that feeliong. And when I drop down into the S I feel about as close as I can to that feeling.

I really like the 02-03 changes so I'm pretty sure if I return I'll go with one of those ones.
So....the natural choice is Berlina.

1- Congrats. The '02-'03 is for many of us the real deal. I can really appreciate your desire for one, and as it is a used car you can most likly find a good deal out there. Good luck and welcome back. You have a wonderful wife!
2- Dude, have you fallen and hit your head. Berlina is NEVER a natural choice...

I miss my S2k too, but not enough to buy one as I already have my summer toy.
Though I do find it strange that you are intending to buy a $1M house and have a hard time justifying a $25-30k purchase.
Usually such extension comes from ppl taking too much advantage of the low interest rates, with only 0,5 or 10% down, and banks desperate to capitalize on huge debt service ratios and climbing real estate values to pad their investments.
I mean, the typical purchase of a $1M home would entail at least 25% down or $250,000 liquid security.

As another example, I'm a huge BMW fan. I can't imagine any 4-door car that I would rather have than an E60 M5, that baby is to die for. However, Frank Williams is an ass, and I will never support BMW in F1 as long as they are a Williams team.
I am a die-hard Honda fan. And believe me, as soon as I can find the right used one, I will be adding another machine to my stable.
