Default Dipstick

Hi all,

1) I was wondering if anyone knows how many Litres or Millitres the dipstick represents...note Diagram:

L|xxx|xxx|xxx|H

For example if you reach L (Low) than how much oil is it really to fill up to H (High)

2) Does the dip stick always jump out 3 centemetres, I noticed everytime I check and push it down the next time I check it's already jumped up by 3 cm...???!?!!?

Thanks all,
For those going to the long distance meets, drive safe!

I believe the bottom of the dipstick is usually about .75-1L At least it seems that way on MY04.

I've heard of the pop up dipstick issue before..

Doesn't it have 4 sections? |xxx|xxx|xxx|xxx|???

I always found if it's down to the 3/4 mark it's down 1L. It was the same conclusion in my RSX.

I'm at the top of the X's all the time, showing full. This is after making sure the engine is warmed up, at least 15 mins of driving, then let it sit for about 10-15 mins on level ground, then check.

This probably will work too.. but I think to get all of the engine components fully hot is about 10-15 mins of driving.. I usually wait at least 5-10 mins..
