Default Driving S in the winter

hey guys

I just have few questions for driving S/storing in the winter

I bought my S this spring and is the first supposed-to-be summer car (according to what most of ppl I know say)
my two previous rides were both wrx, so have never thought about storing a car for winter

What is the reason that this car is being stored in the winter??
Is it because it's bad for the car or simply it's dangerous being a RWD roadster

I just enjoy driving this car too much and also, can't stand driving a cheap beater while owning such a beauty like S2K

Also, I've been searching winter storage tips and found some useful tips

everything seems easy to do except lubricating the CV boots, because If I do store the car, it will be stored at my brother's Condo underground parking lot

Is it really necessary step for winter storage??

what do you guys do when you store your cars??

Thank you for any help!!

Buy snow tires and you'll be fine. I think there are a set on ap1 rims in the fs section. That being said, I park mine. because I like it too much. My 2000 S is in better shape than my 2008 crv.

xviper drivers his s2k in heavy alberta winters and he says it drives great, all you need is snow tires. It will be like a snow plow in heavy snow depending on how low the car is.

Lubricating the rubber boots is easy to do, silicone spray them , you don't even need to raise the vehicle to do them, you can do it from the ground with a good silicone spray lube can.

The reason i store my car is simply for the longterm perspective. I want my car to last as long as possible and the last thing i want is for it to be rotting away from the inside out due to salt and grim which accumulates over the winter months.

Iv somewhat gotten used to the whole winter beater idea although the withdrawl is hard to deal with at times lol. Once spring comes around and my car comes back out it just refreshes my appreciation for it, which is a nice bonus.

If you drive in the winter, you wont be the only one dont worry. There are quite a few members here that winter drive.

I personally wont. I figured I would with the old Camaro I had. I had my sports car in the winter experiance, Im done with it.

I've driven all 3 of my S's in the winter. You'll be fine, just remember snow tires are a MUST. Also, try and stay out of the powerband.... black ice + light, short wheelbase + RWD = danger

I'd also suggest cleaning it off with a good spray down every 1-2 weeks to get any sludge/salt off from the roads.

I like the fact that when I am on the way home in the freezing cold and snow I get home and open the garage to my pretty and clean S2000. I may drive a 2002 Accent for a winter car... But I still come home and play with the S2, gives me time to do more mods for 5 months!
