ok boys, need to make a decision on a TV for the FR.

Dell just came out with a 37" LCD and 50" plasma...both with built in HD tuners.

usage:

-arjun during the day...a few diff. kids channels + kids DVD/VHS (burn-in issue?) - DVD and VHS tapes do not have logos - kids channels do.
-kids/adult mixed in evenings...various channels (don't think burn-in would be an issue).
-on for 10 hours per day.
-need a relatively wide viewing angle (need to see it from the kitchen while the kids are eating meals).

what should i get?

 

I donno - but lets go looking at TVs!

 

Don't do the plasma if you think it could be left on with a menu or logo stationary in the background for long periods of time.

Most plasma's now have "shifting" but if left on long enough it doesn't matter.

I left our plasma on for 5min and it left a line for a day or so. I alomst wanted to bring it back

the fire room....just joking probably family room I would say!

 

I'd recommend the 37" LCD unit, as 10 hours a day even with breaks in between on a plasma, will produce burn in for sure.
