Folks, in case you are wondering what I did since we last chated...
http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=208002
I just picked up an MY02 and drove back from Mssgua to Scarborough.....KOOOOL. I don't know why I didn't buy it earlier.
I had two BMW before and still have a G35 sedan in possession. When I was looking for a roadster I checked out SLK and Boxter. The reliability, style, price and the fact that it is i-4 vtec won me over to S2K. I don't need to tell you more reasons cause you guys are already preached.
The story I want to tell is this. When I first checked out an 03 in a Markham dealership, it has less than 30K on it. Man, it sucks - rough, noisy, gear grinds (I think), no torque (not even low). I though you guys had never driven a nice car before and everything said in this forum was hype.
Then I came across this 02 in Mssgua, with 3K on it (yes, only 3k). It is a different car, smooth, reasonably quiet, handles well. I got a great deal on lease assumption cause previoius owner paid for the first 2 yr, and the car is practically NEW. I posted a question about dealership service and didn't waste too much time before jump onto it. I could have got an MY04 but I like both ends of 02 and of course the 9000 redline.
Bottomline...1) Don't go for that Silver 03 in Markham unless you don't mind fixing it. My bet is it has been abused even with <30K. 2) Even if you have budget for a new S, do not rule out slightly used one. Find the right one can let you keep money in your pocket, or buy the hardtop to make it a more practical car.
