Best race of the year imo!

FIA screwed up LARGE - probably cost AF the race....

Trulli toasts Sato in an interview....

Once again Montoya proves his effectiveness as a good teammate ....

Great race between the 3 best drivers....

I missed qualifying but obviously rain must have played a huge part in the grid....

BAR didn't go boom when smoking like no tomorrow on the grid...

Ferrari...well same stuff tires ....

Okay gotta go confirm the constructors points standing as TSN, the idiots didn't place the standing after the race....by my math Renault should be ahead by few points - CHINA is going to be a HUGE race!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic race indeed. Fisi demonstrated why he will never be world champion.

How so? It was only a matter of time before Kimi and the super fast Mercedes caught up, but other than that, he drove a very fast, consistant race.

Qualifying was a mess - the slow drivers got the advantage of a faster track before the downpour began halfway thru the session. Props to Kimi for an amazing drive thru the field. One of the SPEED commentators said it best - "If Jenson Button can't win THIS race (he started on the front row), he never will".

Sato showed his true talent in front of his home crowd - off-roading with Rubens on the first lap, then taking out Truli shortly after.

I didn't catch the Post race show, but I'm assuming the slowing of FA was to allow the Red Bull past a second time? If so, that was a very significant part of the race.

Yeah, drives a consistent race as long as he's not under pressure. Kimi's in his mirrors, and he goes too defensive in the final chicane twice leaving him wide open for Kimi down the front straight even though Kimi's 7th gear was too short.

I don't think it was mirror distraction at all - Kimi was blazing fast....FAST - Alonso probably wouldn't have been able to hold him off.
But whatever, it was a great race - well worth my wife getting annoyed with me when I finally came to bed at 2:45am

I agree with both of you...

Fisi needed to cover off KR 15 laps before....KR was clearly faster than anyone on the track - he didn't have any gearing problems, he was pulling on EVERYONE in the straights. He was plain faster than Fisi when he caught him.

Fisi blew it because he slowed down WAY to early in the race. If he would have kept running the same lap times as he was earlier in the race, the race would have ended before KR would have caught him as he only needed to get enough time to hold him for one extra lap.

Plain and simple that Fisi mis-managed his race and Flavio should have given him the heads up well beforehand because Fisi has no idea how fast anyone else on the track going - that lies clearly on Flavio's shoulders....

TRIPLE-H HERE

This is the most important aspect of the race.

FA got off the gas and let Kimi walk, only to have the FIA say "opps, sorry". Oh yea, getting off the gas is really easy to recover from.

If FA has not created a huge gap who knows how he could or could not have gotten around Kimi.

Can you say FA = 1, GF = 2 and KM = 3 ?

You see, I like team rules.

Absolutely amazing race.

Doug, i have to admit FA looked awesome out there. That pass around schumi on the outside of 130R was breathtaking. Reminds me of the pass JV did on Schumiat Monza on the inside(dirty part of the track) at over 300 kph.

Raikonnen was great as well and i agree with Shane. Fisi showed that he will always be the 2nd driver. He was no match for any of the top racers and probably never will be.

Ferrari...well same stuff tires ....

Well Marco must be feeling untouchable, hiding behind his ignore mikamaya baby blanket. What do you use as a pacifier? Grow some fvcking balls and be a man. I wouldn't bother, but the eunuch had to open his mouth thrice, trying to congratulate his friend on two weak (playful) jabs at me. Putting me on "ignore" and then posting about me.... oh well, other people's opinions were just an inconvenience anyway. I'd love to send you a copy of a PM that one of the moderator's sent me, outlining what a POS they thought you were.

You are wrong about the old point scoring system furthering the points gap between KR and FA. But when have the facts ever deterred you? Damn tire rule (insert head banging) !! With the present system, KR was 23 points behind FA before Suzuka. With the old system, he's be only 18 points back. After the Suzuka clinic, he'd be 12 points back based on the old system. Don't hear much from you about Ferrari these days... Glad the Renault bandwagon had a seat for someone so needy.

"Once again Montoya proves his effectiveness as a good teammate" (you). You're right this time. Montoya should have signed a contract limiting him to a non-competetive role, subservient to the Master who served up his ass your idea of teammate when he ran Rubinho off the track coming out of the pits at Indy.

I sent an extra F1 Brazil DVD to Doug, realizing he would share with you. You have provided me with so much amusement over the years, it was the least I could do. Enjoy.

IMO, GF took that chicane all wrong, he lost the race because of it.
